Octopus Flask

Pottery was a significant aspect of Minoan art and culture. Made from clay and hand-painted, this vase or flask would have belonged to a Minoan elite. The Minoans were a sea-faring people, and during this period of time their pottery reflected marine themes and inspirations. Sea creatures were delicately painted onto ceramics to appear as if they were floating in water.
